Elaine Thomas - Novelty Cake Decorator
I’ve always been a huge fan of all arts and craft's with modelling and design being one of my favourites. My keen interest in novelty cake decoration started when I saw a book containing the most fascinating cake designs. So along with starting a family 7 years ago it only seemed natural to have a go!

All my cakes are decorated in my workroom converted soley for this purpose. I'm a member of the Bristish Sugarcraft Guild and fully insured, and working from home helps keep the prices low.
I have also featured in an article in the British Sugarcraft Magazine September 2008 edition / Volume 27

It's the little things that make a cake personal to you. Maybe certain colours, expressions, objects that have hidden messages and meanings, letting the receiver of the cake know it's a 'one off' especially for them. I pride myself on attention to detail large or small, giving my cakes that personal touch.
To you or me it maybe 'just a cake', but to the recipient it's much, much more.

This Frog prince is so small but perfectly executed along with his crown and glumb expression!
Horse race, along with 3 different expressions from the horses and riders!
Farmyard Frolicks - A Wonky cake with plenty of action!

Character wedding cakes, garanteed to raise a chuckle!

I love to teach others the skills they need to be able to make there own masterpieces and I'm available for demonstrating Novelty Cake Decorating skills to any clubs or groups in the Somerset area. I also run workshops for individuals interested in learning the craft.
Kids just love to learn and have a go!

I love the challenge of a competition and am constantly trying to improve my standards. I'm also currently in the process of writing my first book on decorating novelty cakes which is due to be launched next year. So keep an eye out for that and soon you'll be able to create your own master pieces!
