Quick Penguins and Robins

Penguin

You will need:

Paintbrush and water, Yellow dusting powder and brush,
Black modelling paste, White modelling paste,
Orange modelling paste,
Character Stick, Icing sugar (not shown)

1. To make the feet roll 2 pea sized balls from the orange modelling paste. Flatten half of both balls with your finger and place next to each other.

2. Using the black modelling paste roll an oval egg shape approx. 3cm x 1½cm
(1½"x ¾") for the body. Put a dab of water onto the flat part of the feet and place the body onto them.

3. Push the point of the paintbrush handle into the feet either side of the centre, to make toes and help secure them to the body.

4. Roll a pea sized ball of white modelling paste and flatten with your finger keeping it round and using icing sugar to stop it from sticking. Dab some water onto the underside of it and stick it to the body just above the feet.

5. Take a pinch of white and orange and mix together.

6. Roll into a ball and place onto the work surface. Shape into a cone by turning it clock wise with your fingers and keeping it pressed against the work surface. Use the character stick with the flat side up, push it into the cone just below the point.

7. Pick it up with the stick, dab some water onto the flat base and fix it to the body above the white belly. Pull the stick down as you remove it to open the mouth.

8. Roll to small balls approx. 2mm (1/8") from white modelling paste. Flatten them with your finger and stick with water side-by-side above the beak.

9. Dab water onto the white eyes and then use black modelling paste to roll 2 tiny balls.

10. Flatten them with the flat side of the character stick and picking them up at the same time, place them onto the eyes.

11. To make the wings, roll 2 tear drops 1cm x ½cm (½"x ¼") from black modelling paste. Flatten them with your finger and dab water onto the body either side to the belly. Stick them to the body point down with the points turned up slightly.

12. Roll a black pea sized ball and flatten with your finger.

13. Dab water on to the top of the black circle and then place under the body to make the tail.

14. Dust the top of the white belly and beak with yellow dusting powder and stick 2 very tiny balls of white paste to the eyes with water.
